Background
D Wardle Plant Ltd is a supplier of a range of earth moving and materials handling solutions, based in Cheshire.
Their main site is located on an industrial estate and features a workshop from the 1960s, and an office building, formally a parachute regiment building.
In 2019 Groundwork’s Sustainable Business Consultants conducted an energy audit at D. Wardle through the Business Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP). Consultants provided suggestions on how D.Wardle could improve their energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
As a result D. Wardle made a capital investment of £37,463 into solar panels.
Sustainability Consultant Navin Raj Venkatraman recently revisited the site to conduct an energy audit to see what impact these measures have had on energy efficiency, and to make suggestions for the future.
Results
It’s estimated that D. Wardle saves £3,482 annually as a result of installing solar panels, and have reduced their carbon emissions by 6.7 tonnes each year too.
