The Sustainable Business Membership scheme provides a framework that helps you on your sustainability journey, regardless of where you are are currently to what your goals are.
Annual Sustainability Assessment
Although the businesses we support are all at different stages of their sustainability journey, Sustainable Business Members all share the ambition to be more sustainable than they were in previous years.
The businesses we work with all commit to an annual sustainability assessment, undertaken within the first 3 months of membership, which reviews commitments and activities in five categories:
- Environmental impact
- Social responsibility
- Stakeholder engagement
- Operational efficiency
- Governance
The assessment is not designed to test your organisation, our team are here to provide an independent assessment of the activities you’re doing and help you showcase your strengths and identify your next steps to drive continual improvement.

Following the assessment, members are provided with:
- An independent report showcasing your annual achievements, including visual summaries of your performance in each category
- A practical action plan, summarising the suggested next steps to drive continual improvement
You’ll also receive a total sustainability score out of 75 and be acknowledged at bronze, silver, or gold level, which you may wish to share with your stakeholders.


Continual Learning
In addition to the sustainability assessment, we are committed to building a community of likeminded businesses and supporting those businesses to improve their understanding of sustainability.
Sustainability Surgery
Each month we host an online Sustainability Surgery, where members can discuss their
sustainability challenges with our consultants and share their own learnings with other members.
E-Newsletter
Sustainable Business Members receive a monthly e-newsletter keeping you informed and engaged on all things sustainability, including suggestions on how your business can get involved in upcoming national events and other initiatives.
Webinars
Newsletters are supported by quarterly webinars, providing Sustainability Leaders in your organisation with the opportunity to delve into more detail and to ask questions to our consultants and industry guests.
Regular Check In’s
Your dedicated Account Manager will check in with you throughout the year to ensure you remain on course with your goals and have access to the support you need.
